I don't have any money for gun purchases right now ... and since we don't know exactly what form any new legislation (if any) will take, stocking up for either reason is risky.
That said I should probably start saving up for a boat.

Haven't needed to buy anything for some time,reloading components on the other hand.

I hear that. I've lost money on nearly every transaction I've done. Usually overpay for something I REALLY want, take it to the range and try carrying it for a month and decide it is less than a perfect fit for me, then see something posted that I ABSOLUTELY NEED TO HAVE and sell my overpriced item for 30% less than I paid for it (throwing in ammo I bought for it and no longer need), then pay well over blue book value for the gun I think is PERFECT.
Shit, since I moved to Denver 5 years ago, if I kept track of all the money I lost on gun deals it would probably be enough to buy a really nice used car. However, my small gun collection is absolutely PERFECT. I'm never selling any of them unless I'm out of work again. The last two times I lost my job (due to company folding) selling off my gun collection was a welcome supplement to the measly unemployment benefits you get.
