    Default Taurus Judge for CCW?

My wife (The stunning Mrs. Mista Bukit) is going to apply for her CCW. She has taken the basic pistol and concealed carry classes and is very accurate with a.22 pistol and getting better every day with a 9mm. We were trying to decide what she should carry, we discussed her carrying a .380, a 9mm or even a .40S&W. Then she brought me an advertisement for the Taurus Judge. It seems like a great choice because with 5 .410 shotgun shells, 5 .45 bullets or a combo of both -- it seems like a lot of firepower in a small package without pinpoint accuracy being necessary. My only concern would be if that would be too much recoil in a handgun for a woman.
Does anybody have any experience with this weapon or any opinions on the advantages/drawbacks of this gun for a CCW?

Rae Ann has Shot My .454. She has run both .454 Casull and .45 colt through it, Goes without saying She prefered the .45. So, I don't think .45 colt would be that difficult for Her too handle.

Some of the Guys Might remember Tami, She showed up at a few shoots early on. She was about 4'11'' and maybe 100#'s, She loved the .454 loaded with the T-Rex maulers.

    Reviews have been terrible.

    .45 Colt accuracy sucks.

Impressive as .410 shotshell SOUNDS, its terminal ballistics are lacking.

It's not really all that small, is it? We're just shopping for a carry gun for my wife, and she doesn't seem to have much tolerance for anything larger than a j frame.

My wife took a long time (over a year) to find something that "fit" her. We went to every gun shop we knew of, and put everything they had, that was close to the right size, in her hand. She finally found that with the interchangeable backstraps, the Walther P-99 "fit" her hand, and she was comfortable with it. We got one in .40. While it has a little sharper recoil than the 9 she was using, she doesn't have a problem handling it.

Make sure whatever you get "fits" her. She will not be happy, or practice much, if SHE is not comfortable with what she ends up with.

The Taurus MP PT145 or 140 series might work as well.. 10+1 in .45 or .40, and it's what my girlfriend shoots. Just a thought

What michael_aos said. It is just too much of a gimmick.

Not getting into a caliber or handgun battle, what is she going to do with it? Shoot regularly and learn how to use the weapon or load it up and toss it in the purse (no offense intended)? A revolver is good for starters. Pull trigger, go boom. The .357 revolver is hard to beat. If that's too much to handle, train with.38s. The .38 wad cutters are quite effective defensive rounds.
