Yes, insofar as you are voting for someone who may vote that way in congress, but that does not mean you actually support that stance. No free thinking person agree's with every stance of either party and everything every member of that party does. But to say that there can't be a pro-gun democrat is just idiotic. There might not be many in a position of power, but there are many millions in the general population. You are allowed to have a stance that does not follow the party line, and it is not uncommon at all among normal people.
History has shown us, time and time again, that in the last 3 members who are in the oval office, the democrats (not just the president, but congress as well) hinge their party on being anti-gun. While that may be one part of the party some disagree with, it's still part of the party's ideals, and thus, Carl is 100% correct, that being a "pro-gun democrat" is an oxymoron. So no, it's far from idiotic, it's looking at it realistically and honestly. Failure to see this fact is where the real idiocy lies... just saying.
