Default Where do we go from here?

Where do we go from here?

It appears as if we are at the crossroads in our country that we have been talking about, and dreading for years. The political climate, Obama administration and the rest of the anti gun crown now have a couple of tragedies to hang their hat on. The latest is a mentally deranged who kid steals his mother’s guns and goes on a killing spree at an elementary school.

It just doesn’t get worse than that. The anti’s have had the legislation all written for years and were just waiting for an opportunity to spring it. They will spring it quickly too, as they can’t afford to wait until cooler heads prevail.

So what are we loyal Americans who believe in the Constitution to do? I don’t have an answer, but I sure would like to hear other sober people’s opinions.

This truly could be the beginning of the end for all of our rights.

The beginning of the end was over 100 years ago. It's just moving faster and more noticably now.

Well I can tell you one thing is for sure.... the America I value and remember from my teens is gone and what I see around me these days, isn't even remotely worth fighting for, at least not outside of my circle of friends and family. This country needs a tremendous re-awakening and a return to valuing the family unit, first and foremost. Without that, we can only get worse as time goes on. There continue to be more and more divisions strengthening in our country across all sorts of socio-economic cross sections, not just "class-warfare", so pretty much everyone is a victim or enemy to someone else... WHY CAN'T WE ALL JUST BE AMERICANS AND BE FREE TO TAKE CARE OF OURSELVES!?!?

If the shtf, I am going to take care of my friends and family, only. If I didn't know you, or at least one of my family/friends knew you beforehand, then don't come begging at my door. I still pray we never have to experience any form of social unrest or civil breakdown, but the outlook for that sort of thing to happen, just keeps getting more and more likely the longer this administration is in office.

But they do have something to lose, the sheepdog that protects them. They're just too ignorant to realize it.

I am with you on this. My first responsibility will be my family and friends. I won't be going to anyone else's place for goods unless I have something to trade with.

Your quote here is probably the most accurate illustration between the two sides of the argument. The people under the sheepdog's protection stay in check because of what they can gain. The rest of us stay in line because of what we have to lose.

When you have nothing you have earned yourself everything is a gift. When you earn the same thing it has a real value.
