So if Bans are so effective then
I was thinking this morning that if gun bans are so effective then the police and domestic law enforcement would have no need for their guns. If normal everyday citizens are safe with gun bans in place then law enforcement should no longer have a need for their guns and should turn them over and have them melted down.
many of the police in GB have....
Wouldn't expect it here any more than I'd expect you or I to turn em in.

Traditionally bobby's in the UK carried nothing more then a pair of cuffs and a truncheon (aka baton).
More and more they re being armed with Guns ( tho they still tend to be smaller units with the real guns .. almost SWAT team style). Many ( tho not all ) are now being armed with Tasers I was watching a UK TV show the other day "Traffic Cops" the officers have to fill out 3 pages of paper work for " red dotting" someone with their taser... just for pointing it at a citizen they have 3 pages of paper work ... AMAZING..
Tho I do not have a link .. gun crime is up around 92% in the last 10 years in the UK ... their gun ban is working out REAL well ...
They just want guns to be banned to feel safer. Banning guns does just the opposite.
Remember the Ft. Hood shooting. The only one armed other than the crazy was Military Police.
This does little to prove the point to the gun ban crowd.. they like to forget about it.
Mass shootings and mass violence is a product of population density. The more population density the greater chance of mas violence. This happens in all animals not just humans.
We need to ban cities!!

We seem to forget our history-
IN 1997, three years after the AWB took effect, the LA bank robbery/shootout happened, with the criminals using ACTUAL full auto assault weapons. The police were so outgunned that they had to turn to SPORTING GOODS stores to go buy some AR-15 semi-auto rifles, high- cap magazines, and thank GOD they were in stock, ready for immediate delivery. Had those rifles been banned many more police officers would have lost their lives along with potential citizen casualties.

There has been a rise in mass shootings because the perpetrators specifically target GUN FREE ZONES- where they know it is unlikely there will not be any firearms. Shopping malls, schools, churches, sporting events, theatres. All public gathering places and many of which prohibit firearms. We now know Holmes drove past at least one other theatre where there was armed security to the Aurora theatre where there was no armed security (which for that theater was typically off-duty law enforcement) at that midnight showing. Even then, he was diabolical enough to leave his weapons outside in case there WAS an armed guard in the lobby who might have noticed he was carrying. As soon as an armed respondent was on scene he gave up. Same with this Connecticut whacko, as soon as police arrived, he ate a bullet. Same with the mall shooter, as soon as he saw a gun pointed in his direction from a CCW holder, sat down and had a lead lunch.
Fear of armed response is what PREVENTS these actions, and the more we disarm society, the worse its going to get.
Banning weapons does no good for anyone.

Actually I believe there were less mass shootings (26) post '90s assault weapons ban than (42) during the assault weapons ban
If you wouldn't mind and if you have the info handy, could you either post those incidents and/or pm me. I am trying to put some information together for the anti's on this.
How do you have more posts than I do? Something is wrong here....
