Dick's was always a fair weather player. No AR's and no handguns, Saw how many AR's were sold during the '08 panic and jumped on the band wagon. Crisis hits " oh shit don't sell icky black guns"

There's a Big 5 around the corner from my house, so I thought I'd stop in there to survey the damage at the gun counter. I was surprised they're taking a slightly different approach than the other retailers and trying to tip-toe between taking a stand and caving in. The rack that usually holds AR-style .22s is empty, but not because they are OOS. There is a sign which says they are still for sale, but not on display. According to the clerk, corporate sent out a memo yesterday instructing them they may still sell AR-style rifles, but have to keep them in the back. Even the air rifles with that EBR look have been taken down and stored in the back room. Out of sight out of mind? I don't know, but I'm just as disappointed with this policy as I am with the stores who caved in and stopped selling completely.
