But that's just not true. Hollow points are undeniably more deadly to a human than a FMJ or solid cast bullets. There very much are varying degree's of deadly. Both kill you the same dead, but some are far more likely to do it, with all other conditions being the same, than others. Otherwise we would all be using the cheapest FMJ ammo in our HD and CCW's instead of purpose made expensive self defense ammo.

Which do the military use in their rifles? FMJ or JHP? (hint: it's the first one.)

I do see your point that some types of ammunition possess better ballistic qualities than others. I do indeed carry Gold Dots in my CCW as opposed to the RNFP I punch paper with, for that very reason. Point conceded. I think the greater point of contention, and the reason some of us here take issue with the specific language used in the article is that it was completely unnecessary and obviously intended to demonstrate bias. Judging by the overall biased tone of the entire article, this particular phrasing would have been present regardless of the type of ammo used; they wouldn't bother to research it anyway.

That article was taken from the AP newswire. That is where we should direct our ire. The blatant use of inflammatory buzzwords made my head want to explode.

I usually note in my letters to editors etc. that the .223 Remington is so weak its illegal to use it to hunt deer in many states, including Colorado

I've seen it being reported by idiots on other networks that he used "explosive" bullets.

I've heard we have stopped using bayonets all together.

They chose to use it without bothering to vet it so they're just as guilty.
