I just bought a Lee Classic 4 hole turret press and a set of Lee .223 dies. I'm going to stay with all the same brand of components for now until I get more experience. Winchester for now. I've trimmed the brass (1.760"), deburred it and chamfered it like I should and started to set my dies up. The problem I'm having is after I set up the bullet seating die to the OAL I want (2.223"), the next bullet I seat goes further in the case. Not by to much, but I can't get the OAL I want. The bullets are 55gr FMJBT. The die is locked down so I know it's not moving on me and even after I reset the stem it happens again. And, every now and then I hear a clicking noise just as the bullet starts to seat. Are these dies junk, the bullets of not to high quality or am I doing something wrong?? Can anyone give me some advice please??
