I had the misfortune of going into the Firing Line last Saturday. It was a zoo. I overheard several people filling out their 4473's asking questions because they had never filled one out before. I even saw one couple that screwed the form up so badly the guy had to start over with a new form. Seems there was some confusion as to who was actually purchasing it.

My guess would be there are a shit ton of people who never owned a firearm who are buying one.
