Yep it's gone full retard. I mean $2k for a PSA rifle? I'm glad someone's getting a few extra dollars for christmas, and I'm VERY glad I'm not caught up in this.

The only disappointment I have is that I was going to give my son a Lower for christmas, and let him pick the parts and we'd build it as a father/son. I had to just go ahead and purchase the upper and parts because supply is dwindling. If he doesn't like it, at least I have something to trade.

I don't know if I'd say they "should" give money to the NRA. I do think donating to the NRA-PVF would be more effective in preserving gun rights, than paying $755 for a stripped lower or $98 for a PMag.
