I suspect the idea of putting forth a bill with no grandfathering is so that way they can "compromise" down to a tough AWB with grandfathering.

Now I don't want to be misunderstood here, I'm NOT advocating for violence, nor do I an any way, shape or form wish to see or hope for any form of violence. But I really don't see how the State of Colorado could pull off a no-grandfathering AWB with confiscation without dead State Troopers. There are many folk "up in the hills" that will simply not stand for the taking of their guns (hell I won't be surprised to see some sort of violence even with grandfathering).

I pray for Colorado. I pray that cooler heads prevail both in the legislature and on the street. I pray that I will be able to find work in Idaho or Utah and that our house will sell quickly if this shit passes.

The whole Molon Labe thing means something to some people. If they actually tried confiscation there would be pain - a whole bunch of pain. Not advocating for violence - just stating what I believe to be true.
What is my joy if all hands, even the unclean, can reach into it? What is my wisdom, if even the fools can dictate to me? What is my freedom, if all creatures, even the botched and impotent, are my masters? What is my life, if I am but to bow, to agree and to obey?

Thats why they won't come to get the guns.

They'll allow them to be turned in, then down the road prosecute one at a time in conjunction with other crimes. No big roundup, no posse going house to house, that would elicit a violent response. Just a passive sort of enactment, such that gradually the public accepts that all "assault weapons" owners are criminals.

You guys realize that most (I'd almost be tempted to say all) cops wouldn't even attempt to enforce any gun grabbing, right? That's a 1,000% increase in risk... No sane, rational human being would jump into a running wood chipper, and that's exactly what any non-grandfathering enforcement would be.

Huh, interesting. Where would that stand on NFA items?

Maybe a dumb question, but how did CA handle NFA previous to their shitty legalization and after?

What good will it be to own them in Colorado if only to look at them? I mean if you go to a range will you be "Busted" and prosecuted? This is going to be very serious this next Legislative session. For certain a Denver style AWB and magazine ban.. Gay marraige will be passed, trying to get around TABOR, massive tax increases.. Colorado may very well be "dying" the way California is.. Texas here I come..
