    Default Why, what if?

I need help from you folks that are much smarter than I.

Why are the Dems introducing a bill that will remove the 2 term limit for the POTUS?

If something happened in D.C. to the house and senate (elected officials) would that allow Barry to declare martial law?

Why is Barry going to be in Hawaii when ALL the other elected official are in D.C. working to prevent the fiscal cliff?

Any idea of the number of folks buying firearms today voted for Barry?

Sounds like this guy proposes eliminating the limit every time the POTUS is a Dem. Make your own mind up on whether it can gain any traction.

Not sure what the importance of the other points is. Your thoughts?

It won't be a simple vote of the Congress. This amendment came about because of FD Roosevelt.

Amendment 22 - Presidential Term Limits. Ratified 2/27/1951.
    1. No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of
the President more than once. But this Article shall not apply to any person holding the office of President, when this Article was proposed by the Congress, and shall not prevent any person who may be holding the office of President, or acting as President, during the term within which this Article becomes operative from holding the office of
President or acting as President during the remainder of such term.

Oops I should have read the article first.

I think it is as simple as they want a democrat president to be elected for life. Sort of like Stalin.

More like EXACTLY like Stalin... politics wise at least. At least none of those in his cabinet are as... competent as Beria.

Don't need any of that. With the most recent signing of the Executive Order that modifies the "Continuity of Powers" (or whatever it's called), all it takes is one big "event" (quite vague, to be defined when needed!) and these kinds of things to which you're hinting, can happen.

And if such an "event" were to happen on the night of an election, then the POTUS maintains continuity for quite some time...

June 2009. I'm thinking that if it hasn't passed by now, it's probably dead.

I'd love to see a gun store "turning away" O voters. They can't actually do it of course, but like that one down in Az a month ago, they can put signs up saying Obama/Any other random D voters aren't welcome to buy guns now.
