    Default A quick cheery note...

So much negativity going around, just thought I'd throw something in there about the good side of things.

About a year and a half ago, I was set to move in with my girlfriend and get married. But money was incredibly tight for both of us, and I came up a few hundred bucks shy of the security deposit for the rental we had our hearts set on. So since she was my big priority, I offered my Glock 26 to my boss saying I'd rather have it go to somebody I knew than a stranger. (It's my baby - the one gun I never really wanted to part with.) He being a gun guy, he said he'd take it. When I met him, he never even looked at the gun - just took it, gave me the cash, and told me whenever I wanted to buy it back I could. We've been friends for most of the time I've worked there, but we both knew I never would have accepted or asked him for a loan. It didn't even occur to me until I had gotten home, what he did. It was a nice back-door way of loaning me the cash I need, and allowing me to save face. Today, me and my daughter met him for coffee and I bought it back. He plays like he's a bad-ass at work, but he's got a big heart and definitely has been a positive influence in my life.

    That is all.

    :-)

I've often found myself wanting to do the same thing when I see someone selling something I know they don't want to sell.

glad it worked out in the end for you.

I have done that a number of times with friends and family. I always put them in the safe, never fired them and let them buy them back for the same price I paid. That's part of the guy code. Pass the favor along to someone else when you can.

Yup. That's what friends do. Congrats on getting your feet back under you!
