    For HD id say go with a pump. alot of times, just chambering a round is enough to freak someone out into scurrying away.... that is of course you WANT them to leave.... if not, then just have one in the hole

    I have a mossberg500A that i bought off gunbroker.com for $180 NIB several years ago. shipped for $20 and had the yellow form done for free at a pawn shop here in texas.... $200 aint bad for a brand new shotgun..... keep in mind this was the model with the heat shield, pistol grip, etc

    ive never owned a pump before and i have a 11-87, what about short stroking a pump? is it possible?

    yes
    it's a problem, esp with shorter arms and it's possible to do. (but easy to fix, easier than a FTF in a semi-auto)
