Default What does it Costs us ...?

I know much of what is paid for out of taxes is accounted for somewhere but tracking it all down is difficult at best.

    However...

Does anyone know how much is spent on armed security for the Anti-Firearm contingent in the US Congress?

Really curious, because for all of their anti-gun rhetoric they seem to surround themselves with it and I assume it is at our expense. Anyone know if there is a breakdown by Senator/Representative on what is spent on security that comes out of the federal coffers?

I always wondered if these politicians are so anti-gun, why are their security contingents armed?

Statutes allow for protection of congressional members and officers as needed but I think only congressional leadership is eligible for full-time protection. I doubt there's a lot of money involved with this, relatively speaking.

"Because less than twenty years ago I was the target of a terrorist group. It was the New World Liberation Front. They blew up power stations and put a bomb at my home when my husband was dying of cancer. And the bomb didn't detonate. ... I was very lucky. But, I thought of what might have happened. Later the same group shot out all the windows of my home" "And, I know the sense of helplessness that people feel. I know the urge to arm yourself because that's what I did. I was trained in firearms. I'd walk to the hospital when my husband was sick. I carried a concealed weapon. I made the determination that if somebody was going to try to take me out, I was going to take them with me."

Apparently Pelosi and Schumer have concealed carry permits too.

The cost ranges more than money. Ever ystep of litigation that comes down to disarm law abiding citizens is once step closer to having the entire populace enslaved to the .gov. But it is all in the name of safety right? If you ask me I would rather be unsafe then be enslaved and protected.

But to get back on topic, why do you think that they have to justify anything to the public anymore it's clear that everyone in the government is above the rules they create for the sheeple

Here is an interesting read if you are into that sort of thing: http://www.fas.org/sgp/crs/misc/R41870.pdf

Go to page 13, where they address the cost for the Capitol Police. Budget looks like it is about $340 million per year. Capitol Police provides uniformed and non-uniformed security for the Capitol building and grounds as well as members of the House and Senate.

    Be safe.
