    Cool Decent lower-end optics?

Looking for something decent in the way of lower-end optics to start my AR out with.

Budget is up to about $250-300. Thought about the Bushnell versions of the ACOG and EOTech sights, though I'm not sure whether to go that route or go with a simple 3x-9x scope of some sort.

I will eventually top it off with something like the EOTech or the Aimpoint.

    Thanks in advance!

going with cheap optics is a fool's savings.
It will break, go bad or simply won't work and then you'll have to put good optics on anyway and you're out the earlier money and a whole lot of frustration and money. Why bother?

used Eotech's are right around $300, same with earlier aimpoints.

Don't chase the DMS as a fighting optic. It simply won't hold up.

Keep an eye on the EE on AR15.COM there's always some good deals on Eotech's. I got lucky at Tanner last week and picked up a 512 NIB for $309.Deals are out there if your not in a rush !!From what I've been told the Bushnell is the Eotech without the cover and waterproofing-same company. That's what I've been told but I don't know it for fact.

Yeah but for the price, it'll work just fine on the 18" AR and some intermediate range work.. I've got EOTech and Po'Boys to cover the fighting part

FYI Bushnell HoloSight is the same thing as EOtech 512. the "ONLY" difference is EOtech has a Steel Cover plate Over the acctual Optical window. Bushnell is aimed more for Hunters & Target shooters, while EOtech is aimed at Military&Police tatical.

Oh also EOtech makes Bushnell's Holosights. So the internals are completely the same.

I personally have the Bushnell. Unless your a Private Contractor, thats gonna see combat. The extra $60 bucks isn't worth a little steel cover plate.
