This 100 hours, is that total hours, or like 9-5 each day?

I filled one out last Friday and have still not heard back. That is easily over 100 hours and the wait at that time was only about 50. How does this thing work exactly?

    1) You show up, buy gun, fill out BG check paperwork.
    2) When BG check finally clears, he fills out 4473 Pt2, and mails a copy to your CLEO.
    3) If CLEO doesn't object within 7 business days, FFL can UPS/Fedex to your instate address.
Not doubting that's the law, but what a bunch of malarkey

I dropped my gunin a box and mailed it to Smith & Wesson, when they were done they mailed it back. What's the difference?

100 business hours, but i think they're working 12 hour days to process background checks now.

You're returning to mfg for repairs, not purchasing.

A spike in requests for background checks on firearms buyers in Colorado has overwhelmed the system that businesses use to track how long the checks will take. The Colorado Bureau of Investigation's online wait-time clock for background checks tops out at 99 hours and 59 minutes. The Denver Post reports the wait is now more than 100 hours, leaving potential buyers to guess on exact wait times.

The checks once took minutes, but request for background checks spiked after the school shooting in Newtown, Conn.
The lag comes with the Tanner Gun Show set to start this weekend. The show's co-owner Ty Blount says the lag means dealers will either mail a gun to a customer or meet the customer again later once the background check has cleared.
    ************************************************** ************************************

...So Tanner buyers, when the BG check is finally completed, will

    1. 1) Receive a gun in the mail (handguns for FFL holders, long guns for the rest)
    2. 2) Have to find a local FFL to use to transfer & possibly pay shipping (non-local handguns, non-local dealers)
    3. 3) Meet up somewhere in about 2-3 weeks (if bought from a somewhat local dealer)

Is this article suggesting that people at gun shows require a background check? What about this "loop hole" I have been hearing so much about?
