Default A positive thread... For all you negative clowns.

So... For the longest time I've been losing hope in humanity. People have gone from out going and nice to being douchebag hermits in their own bodies. By that I mean, poeple used to be helpful in public. If they saw you struggling with something they would offer to help. They would hold doors for people. They would give up their seats on the bus for older folks that are standing. None of that happens anymore.

Then, you look around the internet... So many keyboard warriors that are total assholes to everyone that doesn't see things their way. They're even douche bags to people that try to do somehing to help them. Now, I'll admit, I'm an asshole. I don't pretend not to be. I'm not a very nice person on here. I'm working on it.

NOW! This brings me to my point...

A few weeks ago I met a member from this board for the first time. I had always thought this person to be a cocky little bastard that wasn't very nice. We even had words a few times. But, once we got on the range all that went away. Everything was cool and we've even hung out a few times since then.

A couple days ago, Sunday actually, said person and I went to lunch... When the bill came this person asked me, "Should I be nice?" I kind of assumed what this person was implying... I told him, "I'm always nice. But I have a feeling our levels of nice in this case are different."

Now mind you, this was the second time we had gone out to eat. And this was the second time this person had snatched the bill up like an angry flock of seagulls after a french fry...

Anyway... The waitress came back to the table, put the change down in the little folder and went to walk away... The person I was with grabbed the folder, handed it back to the girl, and said, "Merry Christmas." You could have flown a blimp into her mouth it dropped so far. Her entire day, and I'm sure her Christmas, was made better by this simple act of kindness.

An act of kindness I would have never expected from the person I was with until I had met him in person.

Now, since I've actually gotten to know the guy being the silly little name, he's actually a really nice guy. We've become friends, I would say. I donno, he might come in here and be like, "Fuck you, asshole."

Anyway, the moral to all this is, be nice to each other. That means everyone. Love 'em or hate 'em we're all in this mess together whether we like it or not.

I'm not going to say. If they want to let it be known they can tell you all on their own.

So, then what happened? Did you find $20 or something? Cause that would be a good story.

Girlscouts? Hmmm, I don't know... I think it's kinda dangerous to teach young girls self esteem and leadership skills.
