    Default muzzle brake

Anyone out there have any experience with a DPMS Miculek Muzzle Brake ? I watched a video recently with a guy using it on an AR and there was no muzzle rise at all. Before I get flamed on this I just like the idea of taming muzzle rise on any weapon I have. It's also reasonably price at Midway for $30.Feedback appreciated.Thanks.

I have no expierience with the muzzle brake you are talking about, However my hunting rifles are another story.

I have a rem .300 Ultra mag that is braked and it has as much recoil as a .308 they work and work good. I suppose it depends on the design as to how well they work the only brake I own is the one on my 300 that was recomended by a gun smith.

Have a Y-comp on one of My uppers, shoots like a .22, barely any recoil at all. Some people complained about the db level though. Standing behind the gun, it wasn't bad. But, off to the side. WOW!!

From some of the things I have read about the Miculek brake, It does sound like it works better as far as felt recoil goes.

I have been converting my fleet over to them, there is virtually no muzzle climb, but the trade off is wear ear plugs, it is the loudest thing I have ever heard next to a tank round. no one is safe from a earinging blast for a 15' circle.

I have two equipped that way
It's very nice, recoil is nil, and shot recovery is very fast.

it's LOUD AS HELL though next to it (behind it is no big deal) and people won't really like shooting with you. (it blows things over too from the blast wave, kinda cool actually)

Really, in retrospect, it's a .223 semi-auto, recoil isn't all that big fo deal anyway. Since those two, everything (except the Scout M14 which comes that way) has been with a flash hider.

Thanks Guys !!! The main thing I wanted was quick shot recovery and it sounds like this will serve the purpose for a good price. I'll be curious to see reactions at the range from folks beside me if it's that loud. Luckily the range I go to ear protection is not an option. Thanks again.

I love it, everytime I raise my rifle to shoot, out of the corner of my eye I can see all of my friends running for cover.

I have a Brownells brand brake that is similar in design and I love the thing.
I am changing it when i change barrels though I am goin to a 18" I think.
