    So it's 8 hours ago from December 29. The last date of the 23rd made me think that was the last day it was updated. That made me think it wasn't public. If it is really 8 hours ago from today and is totally public I will agree with you bout being a more efficient way of doing it.

    Thanks for clarifying that for me.

    But BUSINESS hours...FEDERAL BUSINESS HOURS.

    State... The CBI isn't a federal unit... And, if I remember right, they were running extended hours to try and get checks knocked out.


    Just checked the Facebook page...


    Extended hours: 6am to Midnight. Yep... Sure sounds like FEDERAL BUSINESS HOURS to me...

    Sportsmans Warehouse in COS was quoting 7-9 days yesterday. The backlog at the time was 11,740.

    From their FB page two hours ago...Colorado Bureau of Investigation


    CBI InstaCheck completed 1,274 background checks for firearms purchases on Friday. Currently working on checks submitted on 12/21/12.

    I was under the impression that CBI could do about 2,000 checks per day even before the recently expanded business hours. So why did they complete "only" 1,274?

    Maybe some take longer? You know, the John Smith's of the world take a little longer to research than the Ivan Jachovaloski's of the world.
