Default Shot my new rifle for the first time today

We have been pretty slow at the office this week so a friend of mine and I went out to Cherry Creek this morning to shoot. We brought a bunch of pistols and I took out my new BCM as well. It was pretty cold, but, its Colorado - no big deal.

First time shooting the new rifle and, also, my first time ever shooting an AR15. It was awesome!! Guys at the range gave me a few pointers and were really accommodating.

I had been kicking around the idea of buying an AR type rifle for a while, and now, I can't believe I waited this long. The gun is incredibly smooth and comfortable to shoot. I was shooting PMC 223 rounds.

My only problem is that now all I can think about is what scope to buy!

Girlscouts? Hmmm, I don't know... I think it's kinda dangerous to teach young girls self esteem and leadership skills.

The best optic will depend on personal preference and intended use. Personally I prefer a 1-4x such as the burris tac30 for versatility if you've only got one rifle, but they're heavier than some of the other options and conversely not as "precise" as other options. Sort of a jack of all/master of none approach. All I can really suggest is that you buy quality.

    Welcome to the addiction.

With one rifle I would highly suggest you go with quick detach mounts on your optic, because it will let you swap between a couple options with no headaches, American Defense and LaRue make some good QD mounts for pretty much everything.
