Incredibly disappointing.
A total of 170,000 guns are licensed for private use in Israel, or about one gun for every 30 adults.
Those numbers don't add up really based on population of Israel. Nor do they address the issue of bomber vs. gunman, or the instances where the shooting of school children were not in the school but on a field trip etc. Disappointing because it takes a slant without looking at the whole picture. Though that is indicative of what is happening with Congress and the country...a picture is being created that is so far off the truth it isn't funny, though it is being sold as fact.
and they lost all credibility with me when they referenced a Bushmaster as "Automatic weapons of the type..."![]()

I don't see how this is disappointing. Israel doesn't want to be used as the 'model' for the NRA's idea of arming teachers. Who more than likely have never been required to serve in the military, let alone never held a gun. Would probably shit themselves if something did happen. I certainly remember my teachers barely being able to operate a VCR on their own.
Again, the NRA shows why they're incompetent. They looked at pictures on the internet and didn't do a damn bit of research. I wonder if they have their own 'babes w/ guns' sub forum.
The AP article is of course, idiotic.
Whether its a so called "civilian" or not, the presence of armed adults at the schools deters violence. It doesn't matter what they call the person with the defensive gun.
And that part about its for "the terrorists" is even more mind boggling. "Oh, this is a crazed student not a terrorist, I'm not going to shoot back."
The rest of the AP article is of course, strawman strawman strawman.

As someone stated, IMO, not disappointing. Israel is definitely a different environment altogether... But definitely and interesting read. I've been reading some good articles both pro and against gun control. Its been very interesting to read both sides of the argument.
Some of my old arguments against gun control and using examples have been shot-down handily. Always good to know what the other side is thinking...
Everyone in Israel has a gun
Red,White & Blue means Freedom, until its flashing behind you.
And with the way this administration has shit on Israel, why should they say anything supporting us?
And no, not everybody in Israel is armed, private firearms ownership is very tightly regulated.
The most important thing to be learned from those who demand "Equality For All" is that all are not equal...

How is a terrorist different that a crazed gunman again?
