Yes, this is exactly what they are. The pistols also simulate recoil (done with CO2); this recoil is more noticeable than shooting an Airsoft marker.

We use Glock 19 pistols. Remove the magazine and barrel, insert the laser barrel and the CO2 system into the mag well and you're ready to go. The system uses an infrared laser so you don't see it. Recoil is probably 50% to 60% of a Glock 19 firing standard training ammo.

We may be adding an AR-15 to the laser training program in the very near future.
