    Default Moly Coated Bullets

I've tried to read a bit about this, but I'm still confused (because I'm a zero, probably).

what are the pros and cons of using moly coated bullets?

The cons are your fingers get dirty when loadign them and when you handle them. They also cost more when you but them coated.

The pros are some think extended barrel life, better accuracy and your barrel does not copper foul as bad or as fast. Only the last one can be documented.

    Cant hurt, might help.

I molly coat some bullets, but mainly use Boron now days.

    Also to add to Hoser,
There is less drag on the bullet traveling in the barrel and allows you to shoot the bullet faster under the same pressure. Your supposed to start with a clean barrel and only shoot molys threw it.

Overall, not worth the trouble for most people.

I presume the above discussion pertains to moly rifle bullets.

Moly coated pistol bullets (as from Precision Bullets, Black Bullets International, etc) I find to be helpful in reducing leading in my Glocks, and reducing smoke and lead vaporization. That said, they still do lead some, and my favored brand is now Bayou, with their "Gator Snot".

    Rifle bullets: No thanks.

Precisions or BBIs: Yes, please. I'll take cases of them and have shot cases of them.
Mom's comin' 'round to put it back the way it ought to be.
