Default Who's Buying all These Guns?

I have not been to a gun store in a while and was wondering who is buy all these guns? Is it first timers or people that are already are familiar with guns? What have you folks that work at these stores or others that have had contact with buyers finding out? Does all this craziness tell us something about how the American people feel about guns?

EVERYONE is Buying them, EVERYONE. The insanity to buy a gun, anywhere in the country is phenomenal. The administartion did the biggest mistake ever announcing "Meaningful Dialogue" to resolve the issues. Flip side is O succeeded in 2 weeks, doing what no other president has. He jumped started the economy big time, shit i know people (mmm) who melted credit cards buying shit before the elections, NOW FUGGDABOTIT

I was at Machine Gun Tours on Thursday during my lunch hour and it was busy with all sorts of people; some discussing SBR's and cans, while others didn't have a clue as to what they were looking at, but wanted one since Obama is talking restrictions. The prices were too high for me to be serious about buying anything. I did eye a nice forearm they had that hadn't had its price jacked up. Even their bargain bins had prices jacked up on the items in it.

The people that are buying the guns are the people that ask the guy at Sportsman's if they can buy another glock mag loader because it's tough loading his new glock.

The people that are buying the guns are the people that ask the SAME guy at Sportsman's if the lock in the box is to lock the plastic case!

TAHT'S who is buying the guns.... God help us all.

That's certainly a portion of the market. I also have friends who are a part of the firearm culture that are buying every time they find something reasonably priced.

Is it me or, do we desperately need a public service announcement about training.... I am thrilled American's are flocking to own guns! It's important and very few things can instill responsibility of their owner, like a firearm, but holy crap! This is still a game of numbers just like anything else, and with this many numbers, the lefties are bound to have more accidents to publicize. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE people, get some training and learn how to always safely handle those new guns you're buying!

I know some older people that own a hunting rifle or two, that have picked up an AR or AK, and ammo to go with it. I know people that grew up with guns that didn't own any because they didn't hunt anymore and were living in a more urban setting, they are buying guns.

Oddly the reason when I asked both sets of folks about why they were deciding to acquire, largely got the same answer. It wasn't that they were afraid of a ban, it didn't have anything to do with home protection or self-defense. It had everything to do with them wanting to have the tools at hand if the country took a bad turn.

Of all of the words and actions of politicians, and all of the fiscal/financial issues and the shit slide we are on...none of that scared me. These people that are worried about a very real possibility of a not so civil action ranging in ages from 25-85, that scares me. They are waiting for something to give, and they just simply want to be prepared if it does.

Hell, even people who voted for Obama are buying guns right now.

I look forward to the horror stories from the public shooting areas once the weather warms up a bit.
