If you are meaning at a gun range, or somewhere with a safe backstop, yes, that would be neat.

If you mean into the air, camel humper style, then no.

When I was with the San Diego Sheriffs Office, we had to all come off the street 10 minutes before 12 untill 10 minutes or so after. Rounds were impacting the roof of the office. People were calling in nonstop reporting gun fire.

^this. When I worked armed security at a casino in Las Vegas, us outside units were required to stay tucked inside the parking garaged until the majority of the gunfire stopped.
