Getting Certified- Centennial Defense Academy
So I'm scheduling to finally get it done, go and get my NRA Pistol Instructor Certification this month, and looking on the NRA Instructors listing found one for Centennial Defense Academy in Englewood... Has anyone dealt with this organization before? Does anyone know anything about it? Also, anyone here an NRA Certified instructor? What do I need prior to taking this course? Thanks.

Remember that the course they certify you for is the standard for colorado Ccw and you'll understand why most instructors have their own syllabus
There's at least one instructor here that I know of, he should chime in whenever he's on next.
Bring a blankie and a pillow and anything to cut down on the snoring noise...
So it's boring? But what if I'm a gun nut and absolutely love anything having to do with the sport? Will I still be at risk of being bored? Is there any practical applications involved in class, like range time, etc.?

Hopefully you get a teacher that can make it fun, if not drink a couple 5hr energy's and pray the time goes quick.

Its fairly boring material. The group I did mine with was fairly entertaining so it wasn't as bad as some horror stories I have heard.
Before you decide to teach a class - BUILD YOUR OWN DAMN MATERIAL. Use the NRA stuff as a guideline but it is only that. You will need to spend some time making up your own stuff if you want to teach decently entertaining classes.
