I have an '05 Tacoma, and have been thinking the same thing! I really like the truck, so I'll probably keep it and drive it into the ground. I've taken really good care of it, and it ought to run forever. I like not having a payment..

You are thinking of getting rid of a Toyota because it has 96K on it?

That's akin to getting rid of a Glock because it has a round count of 100.

LMAO! EXACTLY my dilema. It's just getting broken in.

I would cover the difference between sale/trade and purchase price, so it wouldn't be financed...I LOVE not having ANY car/truck payments. I figured I'd definitely drive the new one into the ground since 2014 models will come equipped with evil black boxes...

I drive a 1993 model truck. What do you think I am going to suggest? Not having a payment frees up a lot of money every month for hobbies and toys.

I'd keep it and drive it, with the way things are looking right now.

I have a 2006 Tundra with 76k miles, that's paid off. Runs like a top. I figure it's worth more to me to have it than to have a newer model and less $$ for other things that are important right now.

If it's paid for, keep it. Leaves more cash for toys
