5-25 S&B, P4F.
3-12 might be good on critters, but it does not go higher than 12. For the same price, you can go up to 25 and down to 5.
When the targets are small and far away you will thank me.

You know I like my coffee sweet in the morning
and I'm crazy about my tea at night
Congrats on the Bighorn,Chanlynn build. I been shooting a Bighorn for the last two years, one sweet action!
I was recently in the market for a FFP scope, been shooting a couple Nighforce 5-22's for the last 3 years.
Borrowed a friends Hendsolt 4-16/NH-1 reticle, put about 200rds through it. Thought the glass/fit/feel was on par with the various S&B's and Premier's I've handled and looked through. The eye box on Hendsolt is amazing, huge and very easy/fast to get on. Spent a day shooting at 6" targets out to 600yds, for me the 16X was not quite enough magnification. Ended buying a Premier 5-25 Gen II Xr reticle. Had the Hendsolt gone to 22X, would have gone with it. One thing to consider is S&B has a service center here in the US, Hendsolt is making a long trip to Germany for a repair.
A couple months ago a guy shooting next to me at a CRC match had a Hendsolt 4-16 Mildot reticle, same killer eye box. Thought the reticle was way too thick for shooting at 5" wide targets at 550yds. 3-12 only available in a Mildot reticle? The reticle obviously won't be quite as thick at 12X.
Guess it depends how far, what size targets you plan on shooting.
Glad I finally have a FFP scope.
This Colorado dealer stocks the Hendsolt 4-16 NH-1.

Look at the Steiners, comparable glass and features and more reasonably priced.
