    Well on the upside it is a hostage situation. If his intent was to just kill a bunch of people without any rhyme or reason, it would already be done. So this person wants something...

    Ok. Hostage situation in a house... this isn't a 'not again' situation, unless of course you're talking about media coverage. But oh.. It happened in a kind of shit neighborhood, so the media doesn't care. At 3am. Someone came home from the bar and found his 'boo' in bed with another man.. Nothing to report here.

    People with the aforementioned characteristics will view media attention as a sort of stardom for their issues, thus prompting more and more volatile situations. The more the media splashes their pictures across the screen and repeats their names the more this sort of stuff will happen. Its ok to acknowledge the event happened but leave it at just that, an acknowledgement, dont make it front page news of a newspaper or even headline news on a nightly news report.
