A few family members and friends are on the Facebook. They've been telling me that this whole gun issue has been incredibly divisive. When extended family members, old friends, and longtime coworkers start "liking" and "sharing" posts that basically state that everyone who owns a gun is a subhuman psychotic who needs to be jailed or exiled . . . well, it's nice to know how they really feel so you can break off all further contact with them prior to even having an argument. A lot of talk about how guns are "evil" and how gun owners are "filled with fear and rage" and how gun owners are all "mentally ill" and "a danger to society." A few were even talking about Civil War, asset forfeiture, and forced deportation . . . and these are the supposedly peaceful non-gun Liberals. If you try to calmly state basic facts about gun ownership and current laws they fly into a rage and become completely irrational. This is the mindset we're being faced with, the people who want to ban all guns yet lack even the simplest understanding of how guns are used and view all gun owners as social deviants.
All this talk of stupid family makes me glad I don't really talk to 90% of mine.
My sis and I are close, and she's liberal, but she's also reasonable enough that she'll listen when someone who disagrees talks and isn't so incredibly rude.
Example: she has posted nothing at all about Sandy Hook, etc.
I regret deleting all of the libitards off of my FB page leading up to the election. I have nobody to bash on FB now. Its just one big circle jerk....
Oddly enough, the only idiot Liberal I'm friends with on FB is a Marine I served with. We have it out periodically when he shares one of these moronic little pictures:
He couldn't be bothered to respond again. Wish I could pull up some of the other "discussions" we've had, but it doesn't go back far enough.
