It's awesome to know our sport/hobby has gone mainstream.

I'm just glad they got that pesky 100 hour clock improved.... Although, I don't think going from "hours waited" to DAYS is much of an improvement.

On the El Paso County front as far as CCW Permits go, I had a student tell me yesterday that her appointment with the Sheriffs Office was scheduled for March 6th. So if you call now you can look at about a 2 month wait.

I wonder now if they'll ever get this caught up, or if they just continue to keep a 10,000 check backlog to act as a waiting period.

I mentioned in another post a friend of mine bought a new AR from Wal-Mart yesterday. He walked out of the store with almost immediately. This was a Colorado Walmart. Seems the chain uses the FBI background. To bad the gun shops can't do that.

I don't think any dealer is exempt from going through the CBI. Sounds like Walmart made a mistake :-(

I still believe its horse shit that as a CCW holder I have to wait for a cbi check! Even in Las Vegas where they are way stricter on guns I never had to do a background check. But politicians aren't the brightest people around obviously.

By the time I get my new rifle shipped from Buds and do the application I should have it by February.
"The rifle itself has no moral stature, since it has no will of its own. Naturally, it may be used by evil men for evil purposes, but there are more good men than evil, and while the latter cannot be persuaded to the path of righteousness by propaganda, they can certainly be corrected by good men with rifles. --Jeff Cooper"
