Default So I get a laff everyday...

I apologize in advance if this is one of our dear members, but I just had a good chuckle over this email reply to my advert on Armslist for my little carbine-

I'm interested. I live in Denver.
I will want the weapon inspected by a professional gunsmith.
    I will pay.
I will buy only if background checks are completed.
That covers you and that covers me.
I have already tentatively set-up the above
All of which I am OK with, I mean who am I to argue if a guy wants to spend money on a local FFL transfer and wait until it clears before getting what he has paid for. And of course any buyer is entitled to and encouraged to pursue a professional opinion before throwing down your hard earned cash.

    Here is my reply-

I have no problem with an inspection. I recommend Bert at BP Tactical OR Rob at
    Bowers Tactical.
If you really want to wait for a week to take possession waiting on a 4473 to
clear, thats fine by me. Bowers Tactical is again convenient, although Lock and
Load Armory is not far from my shop and the Blunderbuss is across the street.
Castle Arms, Firing line, etc. are also somewhat convenient.
I just find it a little humorous I guess.

I wouldn't do that personally, but with the panic in full force, it might not be a bad idea.

Girlscouts? Hmmm, I don't know... I think it's kinda dangerous to teach young girls self esteem and leadership skills.

Ah, you are getting a clingy buyer. One of those who might call you again and again over the simplest thing. So, Am I an asshole for always asking guys that seem to be uptight or first time gun buyer if he/she voted for Obama?

This is why burner phones were created.

Which is why, when I sell a gun, I stipulate that I don't offer any warranties or refunds.

Which is why if I sell anything on armslist or craigslist, I use a Google voice number. Disposable, and I can filter it rather well.

the lack of any warranty or refund combined with a lack of knowledge to properly evaluate an item means it should be inspected by someone who does know. That part is just wise.

as for him wanting a FFL transfer, you'd have to meet him somewhere anyway. Not like you have to wait around for it to finish, if he fails the check that is between him and the FFL to sort out.

How much is your time worth to go from here to there and back? IF he fails to pass the BG then you have to wait 2 weeks (current time frame) to get the gun back. This could cost you X amount of time and loss of potential sale.

This type of buyer requires "AS IS" form signed after inspection.
