    Default Carry question

My friend and I are going on a 3 day camping trip. My friend wants to go to RMNP. I was once told me that I can't carry guns on national parks. Is this correct? Also, is carrying an AR and a .45 handgun a little too much. I think I need both, but thats just me. Thanks for the help.

Carry in a national park and you go to club fed. You can take a gun in to the park as long as it is cased and locked in your vehicle.

Hopefully that will change here very soon. Been a hot topic lately.

Ok, sounds good. So i'm going to start working on a new place to camp. Now for the other question, is carrying two guns while hiking a little over the top?

I think the real question you must ask your self is this! Why do you care what others think this is America you can carry 50 guns if you like is that not the beauty of America?

Personally, I would carry in a NP if I was going camping or hiking, and I'd keep it concealed and secret unless I needed to save my life. It's not like they're gonna search you for weapons. There's just too many weirdos out there these days. Just don't wave it around or start shooting cans or something.

True that HunterCO!! In fact what is the use of going camping if you can't shoot; and what is the use of going shooting if you can only shoot one gun.

Be safe, have fun, take two guns (or more if you have them) [just not into the National Park]

Nothing is "over the top", if you are ashamed to be carrying somthing or even afraid of what others think, the odds are you shouldnt be carrying a firearm.

Dont go places where you cant carry.

Dont carry a .223, personally that round is too weak for some things you could encounter in the wild, and i dont think .45 ACP is all that great either.

    .357mag .44mag perhaps a shotgun with slugs

Make sure that what you carry is nice and strong, if you have to carry a .45 make sure you carry really good ammo.

I would also add to not wear camo clothes. Even though the 2nd amendment mentions militias, they are illegal and a liberal park ranger could go after you for carrying a "dangerous military guns (AR15 & .45) and wearing a militia uniform". Call me paranoid, but I don't like prison.
