Every time Alex Jones appears on the screen I want to punch him in the face. Nutters like that do FAR more harm than help. The other day I was watching a long video and that nutjob popped up several times, shrilly ranting about the government forcing appliance manufacturers to install eavesdropping devices in household appliances. Shit like THAT is what gets airtime to portray the way all gun owners are "paranoid conspiracy kooks" when the real truth is that everyone on the gun forums thinks he's a nutjob too. Personally, I think the CIA finances Alex Jone's stupid show and writes his scripts for him so he can be the official voice of the lunatic fringe.

As for "retroactively enforced", if you own several loosely defined "assault weapons", the Feinstein Bill wants you to turn over all of them but ONE, which will then be registered and non-transferrable. Possession of any non -registered "assault weapon" would be a federal felony. And we know that the average guy who currently owns and enjoys several such riflwes will be tempted to lock one in the safe and not tell anyone about it. This legislation would effectively criminalize at least 10% of all gun owners due to the fact that guns like the M1 carbine, SKS, and even the 10/22 would be banned.
