the idea of civil war may sound romantic but is not realistic . i keep hearing people say if the gov does such and such then its civil war etc.. well how do folks think thats gonna happen ? what we are really looking at is civil unrest .people seem to think that an ar-15 will hold off the gov ? well your little black rifle wont stop a helicopter , drones ,tanks and the list goes on . without organization its just a bunch of fools running around shooting at everything with no sides . communications are another one , your cellphone and laptop will be rendered useless in time of civil chaos/unrest .
i dont know i guess im getting pissed at all the people who claim they are ready to shoot but have no real plan for protecting their community or organizing supply's , communications and so forth . but then again it burns my butt every time i hear a fool say "im prepared , no food but i got a gun and ill take what i need " (i hear this at least once a week across the table ) .
so what are some real plans to work together concerning civil defense ? how do you establish communication lines without modern equipment ? how does one weed out the selfish crazies from the patriots ?
i dont want civil unrest of any kind (i have infants to care for ), but if it should arise some ideas for keeping a community safe would be nice .
has anyone gone to their neighbors and started a plan for collection of food and medical supply's ? who is gonna patch people up ? do you have a doctor, dentist , preacher etc . within walking distance ?
other things to consider are things like being in shape ,you can have all the guns and ammo in the world but if you cant get them to the battlefield then they are useless as well as yourself . whos gonna lead , if someone says they are the leader are they ?i have found that those that are the first to say "im in charge " are the worst for the job.

the questions and list can go on for days .


just thinking out loud and was wondering if anybody has thought about the same subject

For a true civil war to happen you would have to have a fairly large portion of the military and LE go along with it and even whole states go along with it. Anything less and you would have an insurgency. In that case you would have to change your tactics to one of small unit actions to win back areas county by county and it would take many years and many lives. Small arms will not defeat tanks but other simple devices can. You have to change the way you are thinking from one of conventional warfare to one of unconventional tactics. Look at the Taliban. As soon as something new comes out, they find a way to defeat it within six months. The way that the defense system procures new items takes years and millions to develop and these guys that still squat to shit change their tactics and within six months our guys have a new problem.

i do not believe that our military will bomb us citizens, the govt will collapse before a true revolution occurs. I believe it will be lawlessness and looting that we would have to worry about.

I can't even imagine what it would look like. Words like "horrible" and "nightmare" don't even begin to describe how bad it would be. I'm under no illusions I'd make it much longer than anyone else. I think pure luck would play as much a part as anything else based on where/what type of events occurred.

I see it turning into a Somalia type situation.. And yes things are in order down here.. I think there are a lot of people not posting their plans , but actually preparing.. We are all very close to becoming criminals.. I guess only time will tell..

i for one really like being able to drive down the roads freely . i also like the fact that i can get my kids to a doc if need be . it just sends shivers down my spine when people want to take away our rights , want to do their neighbors harm instead of preparing . i just feel like people on all sides are gearing up for scary instead of trying to find ways to prevent it . why not talk to the fire department and work on a plan encase the lights go out ? wouldn't it be better to work with local goverment to help establish and or preserve ? the media and most social networking sites are not helping socity work together but insted creating an every men for himself environment . why not work with churches and local groups to help with clothing and food .
all im saying is the recent events have really opened my eyes to a harsh reality that no one , not the gov , not you , not me , not one person is really prepared for a disaster of this magnitude .
