all im saying is the recent events have really opened my eyes to a harsh reality that no one , not the gov , not you , not me , not one person is really prepared for a disaster of this magnitude .
Here is the thing, I have talked with fellow NCO's I served with that are still in..... they are making plans within the unit, commander has told them that he will not ask them to do, what the President might ask of him to do. Its serious when company and battalion level units have to have this type of talks among commanders and his NCO's. The harsh reality is that you are correct and that the majority of civilians, especially the ones that think they are prepared are not and will probably die, or have to figure out how to survive REAL fast.

The strategic reality is that there are many military units that will not comply, and there are even more veteran warfighters that are citizen soldiers. Rest assured that there are plans that cannot be spoken about, both online and within organizations.

As for it being romantic, there is nothing romantic about it. I've said it once, I'll say it again... war is ugly, its nitty gritty.... its a daily grind and its not for the weak. I volunteered to go fight for freedoms in some shit hole country in the middle east that I didn't really get any gratification for, it would be my honor to fight for my own country, for my Constitution, for Liberty, Freedom, and Justice for all..... as my fore fathers did.

Small arms will not defeat tanks but other simple devices can. You have to change the way you are thinking from one of conventional warfare to one of unconventional tactics. Look at the Taliban. As soon as something new comes out, they find a way to defeat it within six months. The way that the defense system procures new items takes years and millions to develop and these guys that still squat to shit change their tactics and within six months our guys have a new problem.
