Considering it's 5-4 Conservative, that move still surprises me now, ugh. That tipping vote probably has a big Healthcare Lobby million-$$$ donation in his backpocket. Same with that "Corporate Personhood" BULLSHIT the SCOTUS voted for. What a shocking travesty. Oh wait, not shocking I guess.

You're talking about someone who is going to force you to PROVE he can't issue an EO and has a track record of going ahead and doing what he wants until he's forced to redirect. While we recognize he has limits, I don't think he does.

which goes right back to Jim's comment about it getting ugly and expensive in the courts.

As much as he wants to, he cannot issue an EO saying turn in your guns to the local eco-cycle.

Executive orders can not trump the Constitution, not that the shithead in office gives a damn about hte Constitution.

Has a POTUS ever made an unconstitutional EO before? I don't understand how an EO is enforced. It's not law so how does that work?

... and therein lies the problem. I wouldn't be worried if he recognized limits to his power but he doesn't. Screaming "but I'm right and you're wrong" isn't going to do jack all if Obama decides he can write an EO to require extreme safety measures for ammo storage, slow down and throttle NICS background checks, tighten interstate transfers, etc. Sure, we'll be fighting it in court but that will all take years before getting a decision and they will try to implement and institutionalize the restrictions while the fight is going on.
