Okay, a few questions... I believe the air has been cleared and it's legal to CCW, but the organizers are now stating that they would prefer if people did not CCW. So out of everyone who is going, that has a permit, who is going to be CCW and who will not? I'm on the fence here, they're acting like they don't want to stir up any trouble and risk anything, but on the other hand, I don't feel comfortable ever going to Denver without my EDC on my person. There are going to be cops everywhere, but going back to what's been said on here, cops are not there to protect you, their job usually is going on after a crime has been committed. Besides, isn't an armed society a polite society?

This is one instance in which I think the CCW will stay home.

    concealed is concealed.

You think they are going to be doing spot checks. Doubt it.

Unless I hear something definative about it somehow not being legal, I will be carrying. Whenever I go to Denver, I carry. I also take the lightrail, and then will ride the shuttle up and walk over, so that much time around the weirdos around 16th street? Yeah I'm carrying. And it's concealed, and I don't plan on anyone seeing it. If I get there and see something about it being illegal and they have metal detectors, then I leave.

This is all I can go by:

Spent an hour with two of the top cops this morning from the CHP. There is absolutely no guns allowed on state property. You will be arrested and I want you to know we are backing the police on this one. I know you have rights, but this is the law. And isn't that part of what we are conveying here? That we are law abiding citizens? Of course it is. So please, DONT BRING A GUN ON THE PROPERTY. DENVER PD also does not take kindly to this so I am asking you to use good judgement and common sense. We will have families with children there. I can assure you of this, there are other measures in place to protect the lives of everyone there. Next page DD
While we all know that "concealed means concealed"... the fact that they are trying to make Civic Center Park a temporary gun-free zone during the time of the rally leads me to believe that they will try and somehow enforce that (meaning wands). I just wish ANYBODY out there could find a statute that supports the park being a gun-free zone... thus making it illegal for concealed carry there. Nobody is willing to do that... which just tells me they want to temporarily make this an enforced gun-free zone.

I'll support the rally from a few blocks away (carrying) unless someone can clearly state it is illegal to conceal carry there and show the statute that backs up that claim. My fear, since it has not been explicitly cited, is that the LEO will have metal detecting wands there and will try and enforce an imaginary gun-free zone there. I will not get close to the park unless someone can clearly show a statute that states, in fact, that Civic Center Park is an enforced gun-free zone or not. Nobody seems willing to offer up that little tid-bit of information.
I'll post again without the quote for clarity:

Been doing a lot of reading on the CRS the past few weeks and this is all I've seen relating to this rally.

I may be going now that my Scout campout has been postponed but my CCW is staying home. The organizers have asked you not to bring any firearms. Firmly standing up for your rights under YOUR understanding of the CRS can backfire on the rest of us in terms of the scene it creates and public opinion so if you can't respect the organizers' request then support the rally from across the street or on the Internet.

So is it at the Capitol or across the street at the park?

    I'm so confused.
