I always liked telling my boys; you may learn to be smart, but smart or dumb, you will learn how to do a proper push up. The dumber you are, the stronger you will be.

One hated the down position while doing push ups and the other hated the up position while doing leg lifts. It took my wife a while to figure out why they were alternating their groans of exertion
