So... Let's pretend for a minute... That this happens...

A 1 ounce coin worth $1 Trillion.... Would then 1 ounce of platinum be worth $1 Trillion or am I insane?

The big deal here is not the denomination stamped on the coin, but the thought that the Federal Reserve is gonna mint one, two, heck a hundred?
Anytime these are made it is the same as the govmt printing a trillion dollars. The value of the American dollar becomes worth less on the international market. This in turn increases inflation and in essence you personally just took a pay cut as your money is now worth less.
Even if one gets made consider your money worth almost 10% less than it was the day before.
I say lets all remove the warning labels and let nature take its course.

Just reminds me of the episode of The Simpsons with the trillion-dollar bill. And just as ludicrous.

NPR interviewed a prior coin designer for the States quarter series, and he suggested that the only appropriate face for this coin would be Ponzi.
