Pretty clear when he said "Do you REALLY believe that your government will become tyrannical?" Um, well, actually no...because we have the 2nd Amendment to prevent that. But take it away and there is NOTHING to prevent our government from becoming tyrannical like the English Government we fought for Independence against.

Do they not teach the American Revolution in England? That should hit close to home for Peirs...you'd think a Redcoat would know a bit more about tyrannical government.

That said, I think the 2nd Amendment is first and foremost important to prevent and deter tyranny. He kept saying it was important to fight tyrannical government, but that's it's secondary purpose.

^Exactly. Criminals by definition don't obey the law. This would just be another un-enforceable law for bad guys to break and good guys to follow. But how do we make sure the good guys don't sell without a BGC? Glad you asked. Every law abiding gun owner must submit to a monthly inventory to make sure they didn't sell one without a background check. And how would they know the good guy didn't sell any of his guns? Yup, a registry.

But bad guys can steal guns too. Well, guess we better make it harder for them to do that by making a law that requires law abiding gun owners to lock up their guns at all times. If one gets stolen and used in a crime, we'll send the good guy to jail for not locking them up. Yup, that should prevent bad guys from stealing guns, making more good guys liable.

Peirs got owned. But I still had a very hard time watching it. He is such a smug, arrogant SOB, I can't hardly look at the screen when he is talking.

Well there is some great rebuttal here and some that I have to read two or three times. For one I feel stupid not knowing that BG checks weren't done else where at gun shows! That's scary , I have always enjoyed my fire arms but never paid attention to the individual states and lack of or stricker rights!! I am very informed now. But I will be damned if the government is going to mandate me to register my toys, or make me pay to keep them. Hell the anti gun pos wouldn't like it if we mandated them to release their porn collection, or expose there hard drives for a right to know sweep ! Thats a private thing the gooberment has no right knowing what I have at home or what I watch at home period, each step they take they are attempting to infringe on every liberty we have. slow death of this country is in site and the sheep just let it happen!

Background checks weren't required a gun shows here until recently.

So you say that you support BG checks and you despise firearm registration, that sound about right? So how much trust do you put in our government to 'lose' or 'destroy' all the information they 'voluntarily' receive from gun buyers for every single firearm transaction other than private party sales? In other words, the info with your personal info, background/history and the list of firearms plus serial numbers you're buying on that particular transaction. If you trust the government as much as I do probably very little. This means you are basically 'registering' your firearms every time you're required to do a background to buy a firearm so if you do indeed despise the idea of registering firearms so much then why are you alright with background checks? I for one fail to see a significant difference between the two. With one they have all the information and with the other you're aware of the idea that they have all that information.

As would I... hey, lets get Joe Rogan on the horn, I'll bet Yeager vs Morgan, UFC 155, or whatever, would be lucrative as hell!
