My Sister went there too, I love Niwot, beautiful little town. Hope they catch the student(s) who did this. Wonder what the reason was for the hit list of 30 particular students. Some spineless idiot got their feelers hurt like those Harris/Klebold mental defects?

WTF is wrong with people these days? I just don't understand why these things have been escalating.

When I was in grade school I remember multiple bomb threats. Some kid would call, make a threat and all the teachers and kids would go out to the far side of the school grounds/playground. The fire department would come, search the school, give the all clear and we'd go back to class. Each time they found out who made the treat, it was a kid who just wanted to get out of a test or something. Never a kid who actually wanted to do harm.

Things have changed. We all know the threats are too often real. It's just f'd up.

I feel like there are always kids who have hit lists and who hate high school.

This. There was always some kid that had some list of people he hated. No one ever did anything about it though... Worst case scenario there's a fight in the parking lot. Times have changed.

It's because everyone stopped spanking their damn kids. Gotta have respect for that belt.

None of my neighbors really discipline their kids - they have what they call a "time out", which the kids understandably ignore. The sports their kids play don't have losers, every kid gets a trophy (I've asked what the score to the game was and am told 'we don't keep score'). When kids with that type of upbringing get to high school and for the first time in their lives have someone tell them they aren't the greatest person on the planet, a few of them might not deal with that very well.
