    Question Gun Control Hypothetical

Several members have said we need to compromise on the gun control issue. To me, compromise involves both sides giving up something. Not one side demanding everything, then compromising by walking their demands back a little. So, here's my hypothetical question to you.

What if (HUGE IF) in return for registering all semi-autos as Class III weapons, Democrats agreed to allow the purchase of new production full-auto weapons by civilians?

I don't think it would happen, but we keep getting told to compromise. I expect some compromise in return!

I personally don't like full autos.. I don't own any guns anyways.. I have a feeling its just going to be different degrees of getting screwed..

Good point, compromise does imply that both sides get something out of the deal rather than just one side getting screwed a little less than originally decided... But registration leads to confiscation 100% of the time... so FORK NO!

Here is a compromise that was posted on another forum that I could possibly agree with.

NICS is made available to anyone for free. All firearm transfers have to be run through NICS or a simple form must be filled out and kept by the seller for a period of one year. The form does not have to be submitted to anyone unless it is requested by the police or DA for an official investigation. After one year it can be destroyed. No penalty for loosing the forms unless more than three are lost in the period of one year.

Machine guns remain an NFA item but new ones can be made and sold to civilians/general public. Suppressors, short barreled rifles, and short barreled shotguns are all removed from the NFA.

No registration, I have nothing to register after that last kayaking trip.......I couldn't afford to feed a Full Auto.. but I think they should open up for purchase for those so inclined...

    That is borderline agreeable...

gun control is not about making anyone safer, it is about registering your guns and private sales so they can tax you, if you have to register private sales then they tax the sales price like a used car.

the fact that they now know who has the weapons is just a bonus for when they come for them.

    that is all
