    A friend sent me a picture of a coat pin that he found and asked if I could help ID it.

    looks like something from the WW2 era. the star of david with the 888. my memory is a little shakey on the meaning of 888 but I think it has something to do with being "Gods" number

    I found a bunch of links of divine geometry, greek numerology, the divinity of numbers pretty interesting stuff. The pin in question was found under 8" of soil near and old mine shaft. I still have no info on how old it is or anithing more about that piece.

    888 traditionally symbolizes the sacred number of Christ

    888 is the number of Jesus in the Greek alphabet. Just as 666 is the number of a man as referenced in the bible, 888 is the number of Jesus. In the Greek alphabet each number is assigned a numerical value and when Jesus is spelled in the Greek, which is the original language of the New Testament, his name comes out to the sum of 888.
