Make sure you call and it is in stock. DSA is more than happy to take your money and make you wait for months. I have been lucky in that I have only waited 6 months for an item. And I have been dealing with them for years before I joined here.

I've found several ds ar15s I'm looking to buy- supposedly new. Are they any good, even if customer service sucks?

They are fine. Just saying I would almost make a bet that anything AR is out of stock right now. This is not a CS issue. Once ya order you can call and be told "a couple of weeks" over and over. I have a friend that has been waiting for over a year for an item.

On some things they have been the only game in town. When they branched out into AR's they did not change. I always like how many people talk about how that with there business model they would be out of business but some of us old guys understand.

Ever buy from SARCO? There are at least 5 long time gun parts suppliers that are hit or miss at best. I always laugh at the new "instant" society. Just saying.

Now all that said at this point in time ordering something that may be banned by the time it is ready to ship might be a bad idea.

I have built items on DSA uppers and lowers respectively. Good fit and finish, items ran well when done. No issues on assembly.
I cannot make a comment on a complete DSA AR, never handled one but I have had no issues with 2 FAL's I have owned in the past.
I do not care for their business practices however. I ordered a stripped lower from them November 7, the day after Dingaling won round 2. It was advertised for 79.00. I get it a week later and see that they charged me 99.00. I call them and they tell me that the price went up on the 8th but my order was not processed until the 9th so that is why I had to pay the 99.00.
They did not honor the price advertised at the time the order was placed.
    Booshit!
Funny you mention DSA, I saw an article on Drudge today about a manufacturer north of Chicago that is overwhelmed with orders.
    It was DSA

Their FALs aren't bad. Their FAL parts are pretty good.

As mentioned above, for the longest time they were damn near the only game in town for 922(r) compliance parts for FAL, and could afford to be a little sloppy with their customer service. I guess they learned some bad habits.

My experience (again, with FALs and not ARs) is that I'd order from them again, but not for anything that I needed any time soon.
