Guess we'll find out quite a bit more on this tomorrow from the WhiteHouse...

In other words, you want to have your cake and eat it too, just like an Obama supporter. If I were a Republican or Democrat or Libertarian, I'd be pissed as hell at outsiders coming in and farting around with my party's candidates and positions. If you want to influence the Republicans or Democrats then join their party and work from within. You want your third or fourth tier party to count? Then convince enough Republicans and Democrats to drop their parties and join yours.

Wanting to be able to influence the candidates of a party you refuse to join even nominally is just crass-ackery.

I'll make sure to remember that next time I contact a rep from a different party.

If all that joining the party did was gave access to the primary, no problem, join the party. that's not all it does though. You are basically saying that everyone in denver should be registered democrat so they have any voice in the congress?

Yes, RMGO fights, but they are not the only dog in the fight. There are multiple individuals and groups that have already had personal meetings with legislators and even Hickenlooper. Saying RMGO is the only one to support is kind of like saying you can only buy guns from the Firing Line. Nothing against FL or RMGO directly, but lets not get tunnel vision on this.

Terrible idea. That lets Democrats pick our candidates for us. That's how we ended up with Maes running for governor in 2010, and might have been a factor in getting McCain in 2008 and Romney this last time around.

The choice is usually made well before we have a chance to participate, by states that have open primaries. Hell, nobody even bothers to check if the people voting have the right to vote. The whole system has been corrupted.

I wish technology solved people issues. It seems to just reveal them.
