I thought you could obtain a permit in another county if your place of business was in that county. I'm trying to find it on jeffco's site but they've redone the site. Not sure about the requirements for your 'place of bussiness'
Land is NOT "real property" under the definitions. Has to be a dwelling or a place of business, land ownership is immaterial.
This was my understanding as well, thus my prior comment. I believe that simply owning a parcel of undeveloped land, isn't adequate. Again, I'd be thrilled to learn otherwise. I don't see why land isn't enough, as I think it should be.... some folks own tracts of land for hunting/farming.

In the FWIW category, there are several small "ghost" towns forming on the Eastern plains of CO. I looked at a 900 square foot house in Yuma, CO that was for sale for $11K. Heck, there are even homestead tracts still available.
So if my business leases office space in a shop in a county I can apply there?
