    Have you seen the new 10/22 Plastic for the receiver trigger group and barrel ring, yuck!!!!

    Are we Talking about the same Ruger 10/22 that they haven't change in design for over 3 decades?

    Me bad te new finish threw me off, but the design changed some what as they don't fit the Evolution stock it seems. I am an *** and shot from the hip please begin the throwing of rotten veggies and fruits

    Hmm I gonna have to look at that. Oh also the new gen 10/22 rifles are called 10/22 carbines. just a flip down rear sight, Rail system attachment and barrel ring.

    Look at how much plastic is in an AR or the majority of pistols coming out these days.

    Yep that is it. I think it was over on rimfirecentral someone got in contact with Ruger about the changes. Apparently some of the reasoning was machinery wearing out and having to be replaced so they made a choice to use plastic injection for some parts like the barrel band.

    I know plastic isn't always bad and there is more plastic in my PS90 then metal, but to me the 10/22 should be wood and metal.

    they're also painting the recievers on the new ones. The plastic trigger group didn't surprise me at all, the barrel band being in direct contact with a barrel is concerning.
