Irvin B. Nathan cites the 1st Amendment in explaining why David Gregory won't be prosecuted for exercising the 2nd. Brilliant, coward.

I'm going to go get a job with NBC and start fixing my hair in a fashion that makes me look like a clown. It will be worth it if it means I can stroll onto the White House lawn while armed to the teeth, take a dump, and still get off scott-free.

Had to send my own letter the DC OAG:

Now that your office has decided not to prosecute David Gregory for violating the law on possessing a "high capacity ammunition feeding device" under the auspices of the First Amendment I'm assuming any non-liberal who chooses to exercise their free-speech rights in the District by posing with a similar magazine won't be prosecuted either? I mean, free speech and all...should apply to everyone, right? So I'll expect not to be arrested and charged when I stand in front of the White House with my 30-round magazine and exercise my free-speech rights against further government restrictions of my Second Amendment rights.

So please forward a letter to me forthwith (address below) authorizing such a demonstration with said magazine to be in my possession. I'd like to strike while the First Amendment iron is hot, if you know what I mean.

The blatant hypocrisy shown in this decision is further proof that the ruling class in this country is subject to an entirely different set of laws than the average citizen. This decision flies in the face of District law and is obviously a politically partisan one that will never be applied to someone who isn't politically connected and on the politically correct side of the gun-ban issue.

You are a disgrace to the office you hold.

As an aside, this touches on how broken our criminal justice system is in many other ways. Prosecutors are the Gods of our justice system and they wield unaccountable authority that can ruin or save a person's life, and are rarely if ever given serious oversight to the exercise of that power.
